London's Quirky & Unusual Sights

So a bunch of Sisters travelled up to London for our annual summer run on Sunday 9th August to see some quirky and unusual sights. We covered a lot of miles and, even though it was hot, had a lovely day which felt nice and unhurried. 

Lunch was a welcome break in a quiet, shady park and we all thought that starting back running was a bit hard afterwards!

We saw so many sites including a postbox with an Edward VIII cypher, a herd of elephants, an upside down globe, a fake 10 Downing Street, Diagon Alley and a house made of biscuits! We spent a lot of time looking for the noses of Soho (IYKYK) and the highlight for everyone was a surprise trip to the top of Horizon 22, London’s highest, free viewing platform. The views were spectacular and the buildings all looked so small!

Before catching the train home we managed a drink and a quirky quiz in a bar near the station. Overall a great day was had by all.  

For those that have not been on one of the London runs before, do think about coming next time. The distance may sound daunting but we have plenty of stops between our running and you get to mix with club members that you might not otherwise see. It’s also a good way to see different parts of London.  

Next years theme and date will be advertised at the end of the year, but before then we have our annual London Christmas lights run on Sunday 22nd November that we hope you will join us on.
