Twixmas Party time 2025!
As with every year, I will start with a huge, colossal thank you to Kerry for organising a superb night of friends, laughter and dancing, after whats been another year of fantastic events.
As with every Twixmas party, to go alongside the dancing we had all the sparkles, glitter and sequins!

During the celebratory evening of awards and dancing we once again had the raffle. On arrival everyone was given a drinks voucher, a welcome present and the raffle ticket giving them a chance to win a fab extra running prize!
Once the dancing started it did not stop ,even if the DJ did focus on Kerry's music choices and not Jess' (other people's were also chosen !!) Just like before, we had the dance routines, this year the main question being, do you or do you not quick your foot out during Reach.... (correct answer is yes, you should!)
For the third year the club awards were included at Twixmas and Kerry’s fun but meaningful Little Miss awards were too.

Beginner Of the Year
Beginner of the year is chosen by the volunteers and members that help lead the beginner courses throughout the year. This year it also went out to the full club in case new members had met Beginners at club runs after graduation or at club events. This year we only had the one winter course.
The reasons for those that were nominated all included truly embracing and becoming part of the club and taking part.
As well as the winner, four other beginners were named as notable mentions across multiple nominations. As well as notable mentions, a total of four beginners were nominated from ten different nominations.
Some of the notable mentions are : Charlotte Postle and Nicola Davey who attended every single week and Chloe Dawson who did the Great South run 5k mid course.
Well done to you all
The winning Sister had these things said about her:
“She never gave up and makes a great effort on all club runs”
“She supported other beginners during club runs and homework runs”
“Fully embracing the spirit of the club by encouraging and supporting others, and wears the club top with pride”
“She is an inspiration and and superb representation of our club ethos!”
“She's been determined , motivates others, stuck with it - seriously impressive.”
“she has achieved her goal of being able to run parkrun having volunteered 156 times”

These are all things that we love to have in our volunteers so this was fab to read.

Runner of the year
This person can be nominated for a number of reasons, whether they’ve done over and above or have improved themselves in a certain way or someone who embodies everything the club stands for.
