Since the March 2022 AGM we lost three of our committee members.
Helen who stepped up as Chair in March, stepped down in October for personal reasons. We thank her for her tenure which saw JDs drawn up to clarify committee roles and responsibilities.
Sue stepped down as Head Coach after serving the club for many years on the committee. A huge thank you to Sue for everything she has done for us- and I am sure will continue to do as she is continuing to lead runs for us.
And finally Sam who has served the club for many, many years on the committee- first as the
secretary and then as our treasurer. Her calm, quiet, reassuring presence will be missed very
much. Thank you Sam for everything. Nikki, with Kerry by her side, made events their own- be it parkrun trips, lights runs or scavenger hunts! Kerry achieved what felt impossible and got the new kit sorted! As well as helping Nikki. Kirsty has risen to the role of treasurer and battled with the barriers from the banks to get on top of all the financial stuff. Danielle- ably assisted by Chrissi and Jess has done us proud in both CC6s and RR10s this year. Eileen IS welfare- it is inconceivable to imagine someone better suited to the role Lorna deals quietly and efficiently with all our new members- a role we couldn’t live with out, and Jess has quite frankly astonished us all with her devotion to the website and social media.
They are an awesome bunch of ladies who have worked so hard for so thank you so very much for all you have done and surely will continue to do for Solent Running Sisters
Kit Update After a very, very long process of finding a supplier for our kit that had the right colour, fabric and did not demand that we order too much stock, we finally found one. We redesigned the logo slightly – by making the lady smaller and to fit inline with the text and for the text to be consistent. The text was also modernised.
Â
The other new item organised through ‘kit’ this year were the high vis Leaders and Coaches tops. Although these were never seen to be compulsory, virtually every leader/coach has one. The purpose was for the actual person leading a run to be visible both by those running and the public in general. It also lets those leaders that are attending as a runner be able to just be part of the group. I hope the club members have found them useful in identifying who is leading. Â
Â
As we now have the new logo in our ownership, we can order other items of stock not just from our main supplier. We are currently working on placing an order for big bobble hats
